These drapes cannot actually spread, a la "Back to the Future Part II." Instead, they use wheels to move them around the ground. It sounds lame, but really they are a lot more fun to ride than a skateboard.
Technically they are called self-balancing scooters. These scooters look and act like miniature Segways (minus the steering wheel) that move forward when you lean forward and brake and turn when you release. Fine movement of the legs, feet and torso in any direction should be used when traveling forward and forward.
To move around, all you have to do is move. Two pressure-sensitive pads allow you to control speed and walk. As the hoverboard begins to move the moment you start, installation and dismantling can be difficult at first. And with no rigidity to stabilize yourself, balancing can be tricky - it's easy to fall off as you get used to the boat.
Actually, it's kind of a workout. You use your core to keep yourself balanced, and you feel the burning of your calves and feet as the muscles in these areas will help guide you.
Why are they so popular?
Hoverboards can be difficult to get the hang of. But as you drive one outing, it moves with you easily, stopping on a dime and turning slightly. Horseback riding almost looks like an extension of itself and does not require manual movement such as a skateboard or kick scooter. You can pick up a lot of speed (most top out at about 10 miles per hour), making them faster than walking.
While they can be expensive, they are smaller and cheaper than the Segway (which costs $ 5,000), so they are much more affordable to buy, store and use.
Do hoverboards still light up?
In 2015, many reports of incineration or explosion were displayed. The origin was a combination of defective batteries and bad electronics. Hoverboards are equipped with large lithium-ion batteries, which in rare circumstances can overheat and explode - something similar has happened to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 last fall.
In early 2016, the Consumer Product Safety Commission investigated the safety of all brands in all packaging, recommending that all new linings produced be "UL 2272 certified" for import into the US (more on that later). Accordingly, hoverboards are unlikely to end a flame.
Then there were the fakes. CNET video producer Mariel Myers faced it when it bought a son from a third-party seller on Amazon and ended up with cheap counterfeiting. At the time, these attack boards were likely to have a tendency to fire and explosion, but we do not know. To get the real table, she went straight to the Canadian manufacturer's website.
What are the other security issues?
Even if you don't have to worry about explosions, you still have to consider the dangers.
Fall and self harm. As with any high-speed vehicle, hoverboarding can cause damage. Hoverboards can reach a top speed of about 10 mph, so you can sustain more substantial damage than you would fall off a slower-moving skateboard.
While most riders (at least in San Francisco), without it, a proper safety device is a must. You will need a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads and wrist pads. This will reduce your risk of fractures, sprains and other injuries if you reduce.
Road traffic accidents. As with bikes and skateboards, there is a chance that you may be involved in a road accident, especially if you are near or near the street. A teenager was attacked and killed by a bus in London while riding a hoverboard. Please do not release the hoverboard on the street or in the vicinity of traffic unless you are in California, where hoverboards are by law classified as a bicycle.
Weight limits. Hoverboards have a minimum (typically around 45 pounds) and maximum weight limit (some boards can support up to 300 pounds). These limits are designed to protect the rider and the scooter, so be sure to check the manufacturer's website for details.
Children under the weight limit will have difficulty riding because scooters will not perceive their weight and support properly. Do Your Kids Have to Go to the Hoverboard? You will need to use the best judgment.
Steep mountains. Most boards will also not work up or down steep mountains, typically above 30 degrees. There is no height restriction for boards, but keep in mind that most lift you about four inches above the ground. If you are extremely tall, you run the greater risk of feeling your head.
So who should I buy high roller hoverboard?
There are many companies that sell hoverboards starting at around $ 220 and reaching $ 800. Many of them work the same, with slight differences in specs and style. I have run several models. While there are magical differences in how they drive, it is not easy to distinguish between high end and cheaper versions.
The biggest factor when shopping is to make sure you are UL 2272 certified. If you are unfamiliar with UL, it is an organization that certifies, approves, inspects, verifies, inspects and inspects electrical appliances. UL strives to "promote global trade and ensure peace".
